'Dingle' Speed Drivetrain

$75.00

Coined “dingle” speed because it’s essentially a double single speed. What’s the benefit? A true single speed drive train is best for hunting bikes because of its toughness and simplicity, however, one of the drawbacks is that you handcuff yourself to a particular gear ratio. Maybe that gearing is perfect for your lease in Kansas, but terrible when you hunt the mountains. Or, maybe its perfect in hunting season, but way too slow for recreational summer riding, etc etc. The ‘dingle’ speed allows you to have a second “single speed” option that you can simple hop the chain over to and totally change your bikes torque and speed characteristics. An IGH is another way you can achieve this type of versatility, but they weigh a ton and cant create the torque we like to shoot for in our drive trains. The “dingle” setup allows you to switch things up for different scenarios without the extra failure points and without losing any potential torque.

If you want to hunt with a bike that’s a speedier ride and only moderately good at climbing hills, but want the ability to ‘lock it in 4-low'‘ when you need to tow out that 250lb buck, you can take a few minutes and totally change your torque at the wheel.

**its not an instant swap between gearing like with a derailleur or geared hub. Its something you get off the bike and take a few minutes to adjust. It’s meant for occasional adjustment so you have the versatility available should you ever need it, without compromising the simplicity of a single speed.

***This listing is for purchase/upgrade to ‘dingle’ speed WITH the purchase of a complete bike, not for individual purchase alone. Contact us for options and pricing for purchasing without a bike purchase.
